About the department

The Department of Journalism was established by the decision of the Academic Council of the University under the number "5/3-13" dated December 24. 2021 and the order of the Rector of the University dated January 7. 2022.

The Department of Journalism is an integral part of the structure of Kulob State University named after Abu Abdullah Rudaki and the Faculty of Tajik Philology and Journalism, and conducts educational, scientific and methodological activities among students and teachers.

In the academic year 2022-2023, there are only 13 teachers and 1 employee working in the department of journalism, 6 of whom are main employees, 4 internal colleagues and 3 external colleagues.

History of the department

The Department of Journalism was established in 2012 by the initiative of the then Dean of the Faculty of Tajik Philology and Journalism, Associate Professor G. Mirzoev, with the consent and order of the University Rector, Doctor of Philology, Professor N.N. Solehov, in August 2012. By this order, journalist, senior teacher Bakhtiyor Safarov was appointed as the first director of the department. In 2013-2014, the head of the department of journalism, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Khudoidodova Sharofat, from 2014 to 2015, the young and talented teacher Nazirmadov Dilshod, from 2016 to 2017, Doctor of Philology, professor Jumakhan Alimi, in 2017 candidate of philological sciences, Associate Professor Sodikov Yorali, from 2017 to December 2021, the department merged with the Department of Tajik Literature and operated under the name of the Department of Tajik Literature and Journalism.

On the direct initiative of the dean of the faculty Abdusamadzoda Eraj Abdusamad and the former rector of the university, Professor Miralizoda A.M., he was separated from the Tajik literature department. Currently, the department is operating independently.

Activities of clubs in the department

A scientific-literary club under the title "Young Journalist" is active in the Department of Journalism. The club is led by the assistant of the department Muslimov Ismail. There are 30 creative and talented students in the club. According to the plan, the club operates twice a month, and the best examples of newly written scientific articles are discussed and discussed, and the best of them are published in the newspapers "Anvori donish", "Navidi Kulob" and the publication "Marifat".

In this regard, the journalists of the news media of the city of Kulob are invited to the club. Reports of the club will be broadcast on "Safina TV", "Kulob TV" and social networks.
