Today, 31 August 2026, Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki held an extended meeting of its Academic Council to mark the beginning of the 2026–2027 academic year. The meeting brought together the University leadership, members of the Academic Council, heads of departments, and representatives of the Universitys structural divisions to discuss key issues related to the new academic year.
The meeting was opened by the Rector of the University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Safarzoda Munir Vatan, who warmly congratulated the members of the Academic Council and all participants on the beginning of the new academic year, Knowledge Day, and the great national celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The Rector also called upon all participants to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the instructions and directives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, delivered during the meeting with educators dedicated to Knowledge Day. He expressed confidence that the Universitys faculty and staff would take the Head of States wise guidance as a guiding principle in their daily work and faithfully fulfill their noble educational mission.
Following the opening remarks, the Chair of the meeting presented the agenda, and the session continued in accordance with the approved plan.
The Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation presented the report on this item. The work plan outlines the Universitys priority objectives, including improving the quality of education and student development, strengthening scientific research, increasing student involvement in research activities, and expanding digitalization across the institution. The plan was unanimously approved by the members of the Academic Council.
Reports were delivered by the Vice-Rectors, heads of administrative divisions, and deans of faculties. It was emphasized that the 35th Anniversary of State Independence should be celebrated with dignity through large-scale scientific and cultural events organized at the highest organizational and public level.
The Council reviewed the level of preparedness of all University structures for the beginning of the academic year. Reports presented by heads of divisions and faculty deans provided comprehensive information on practical measures aimed at improving the educational environment, updating teaching and methodological materials, and ensuring the effective organization of the teaching process.
During the discussion of this agenda item, leaders of the Universitys structural divisions presented their reports. It was stressed that all departments should be fully mobilized to organize the Peace Lesson and the official Knowledge Day celebrations at a high professional standard.
In this section, heads of structural divisions discussed several current matters related to the organization of the educational process and labor discipline. Appropriate resolutions were adopted following the discussions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Rector Professor Safarzoda Munir Vatan issued specific instructions aimed at strengthening the educational process, enhancing scientific research, increasing student participation in the Universitys cultural and spiritual life, and expanding educational and character-building activities in line with contemporary requirements. He emphasized that all faculty members and department heads must demonstrate responsibility, initiative, and dedication in implementing the Universitys priorities throughout the new academic year.
