EXPANDING INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION: A NEW STAGE OF PARTNERSHIP WITH GIMCHEON UNIVERSITY (REPUBLIC OF KOREA)

As part of the Open Doors Policy and in line with the wise and far-sighted policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, aimed at expanding international cooperation, Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki and Gimcheon University (Republic of Korea) held a productive virtual meeting, during which a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed.

During the meeting, the Rector of Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki, Professor Safarzoda Munir Vatan, highlighted the achievements of the period of State Independence and the steady development of friendly relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea, particularly in the fields of education and science, emphasizing that these accomplishments are the result of the balanced policies pursued by the leadership of both countries.

The parties noted that the signed Memorandum will serve as a foundation for cooperation in several priority areas, including the establishment of a Korean Language Center, the introduction of a Korean language program within the Faculty of Foreign Languages, academic exchange opportunities for students and faculty members, continuation of studies at various academic levels at Gimcheon University, as well as the organization of joint online programs, webinars, and virtual classrooms.

It was emphasized that the signing of the Memorandum is part of the implementation of the Universitys International Relations Development Strategy for 2026–2030 and will provide favorable conditions for strengthening academic and scientific cooperation while enhancing the universitys integration into the global higher education community.
