AN IMPORTANT STEP TOWARDS THE DEFENSE OF A DOCTORAL DISSERTATION

On June 12, 2026, a joint meeting of the Department of Economic Theory and the Department of Enterprise Economics and Entrepreneurship at Kulob State University named after Abuabdulloh Rudaki was held to discuss the doctoral dissertation of Bahriddin Nuriddinovich Mahmudov, Candidate of Economic Sciences and Associate Professor, entitled: “Improving the Mechanism for Sustainable Utilization of Water and Energy Resources in the Region: Theory and Practice (Based on the Example of Southeastern Tajikistan).”

The dissertation has been submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Economic Sciences and was prepared under the scientific supervision of Rahimzoda Hisayn Rahim, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, and Head of the Department of National Economy and Economic Security at Tajik National University.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Faculty of Finance and Economics, heads of departments, faculty members, researchers, and industry experts, who shared their views and recommendations regarding the research topic.

During the discussion, the official reviewers — Abdulkhait Karimovich Kurbonov, Doctor of Economic Sciences and Professor of the Department of Economic Analysis and Audit at Tajik National University, and Fozil Said Obidzoda, Doctor of Economic Sciences and Professor of the Department of Banking at Tajik National University — thoroughly examined the theoretical and practical aspects of the dissertation. In addition, the review prepared by Komron Saydabrorovich Odinazoda, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Sectoral Economics at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, was presented to the participants by the meeting secretary, as he was unable to attend due to official commitments.

The participants emphasized the scientific and practical significance of the research and offered constructive comments and recommendations for improving certain aspects of the dissertation. As a result of the discussion, the dissertation was considered complete, taking into account the remarks and suggestions made, and was recommended for consideration at the next stage of the academic review process.
