(Honoring Distinguished Educators and Coaches Through the Establishment of Classrooms at Kulob State University Named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki)
The administration of Kulob State University named after Abuabdulloh Rudaki, guided by the educational and sports-oriented policies of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, continues to implement effective measures aimed at creating favorable conditions for education and upbringing while honoring the outstanding contributions of prominent figures in science, education, and sports.
In this context, on June 12, 2026, as part of the celebrations dedicated to the upcoming National Unity Day and the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, a classroom named after the experienced educator, distinguished coach, and Honored Coach of Tajikistan, Bozor Husaynovich Kurbonov, was officially inaugurated at the Faculty of Physical Education and Military Training.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University, Professor Munir Vatan Safarzoda, vice-rectors, faculty members, university staff, veterans of education and sports, former students, and members of the coach’s family.
During the event, speakers emphasized that the establishment of such classrooms is part of the university’s ongoing development and modernization initiatives. The newly established classroom has been equipped with modern teaching technologies and educational resources. It was noted that naming the classroom after Bozor Husaynovich Kurbonov reflects profound respect and appreciation for his dedicated service and significant contribution to the development of physical education and the training of younger generations.
Bozor Husaynovich Kurbonov was born on May 12, 1943, in the village of Chorbog, Kulob district. He devoted his entire professional life to education and sports development. He graduated from the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature of the Kulob State Pedagogical Institute and later from the Tajik Institute of Physical Education. From 1973 until the end of his life in 2024, he worked at Kulob State University named after Abuabdulloh Rudaki as a lecturer, senior lecturer, and coach at the Department of Physical Education.
As a renowned athlete and Master of Sports of Tajikistan in traditional wrestling, he made a remarkable contribution to the development of national sports. Over many years, he trained numerous young athletes, many of whom became national champions and masters of sports and continue to contribute actively to the development of sports and physical education in the country.
His educational and public activities were repeatedly recognized with awards, including Certificates of Honor from the Committee for Physical Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan, the commemorative medal “20 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945,” the badge “Excellent Worker of Education of Tajikistan,” and the honorary title “Honored Coach of Tajikistan.”
The educational and coaching legacy of Bozor Kurbonov, built upon diligence, patriotism, responsibility, and dedication to his profession, remains an inspiring example for teachers, coaches, and students alike. Therefore, the establishment of a classroom bearing his name serves as a tribute to his lasting contributions and will play an important role in educating young people in the spirit of respect for national values and appreciation of distinguished personalities.
Overall, the establishment and inauguration of such classrooms demonstrate respect for the invaluable contributions of veteran educators and coaches and represent a continuation of the human-centered and education-oriented policy of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, who consistently places great emphasis on enhancing the status of teachers, advancing science and education, and promoting the physical development of young people.
