On May 22, 2026, a grand cultural and entertainment event dedicated to Youth Day of Tajikistan and World Football Day was held with special magnificence at Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki.
The event was attended by the university rector, Professor Safarzoda Munir Vatan, vice-rectors, heads of departments and divisions, faculty deans, as well as a large number of lecturers and students.
Opening the event, Rector Professor Safarzoda Munir Vatan, in his congratulatory speech, noted that in these memorable and joyful moments, everyone had gathered with hearts full of love for the Motherland and pride in the courage and achievements of the younger generation at this solemn celebration dedicated to Youth Day of Tajikistan and World Football Day. He sincerely congratulated all participants on these important occasions and wished them health, prosperity, happiness, success, and the fulfilment of their aspirations for the flourishing of Tajikistan.
It was emphasized that today, as these significant public events are celebrated in the atmosphere of peace and stability of independent Tajikistan, society expresses gratitude for statehood and national unity with strong confidence in the creative power and determination of youth. In this regard, the words of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, Honourable Emomali Rahmon - “Youth are not only the future of the state but already today one of the main driving forces of society” - were described as a guiding principle and a source of inspiration.
Regarding World Football Day, it was noted with pride that the Republic of Tajikistan gained international recognition as the initiator of proclaiming May 25 as World Football Day. This initiative was described not only as a sporting achievement but also as clear evidence of Tajikistan’s contribution to the development of global sports and the strengthening of friendship and cooperation among nations.
This inspiring development once again demonstrates that the Government of the country is making every effort to support and develop the potential of young people.
During the event, the university staff football team, which won third place in the city mini-football tournament, was solemnly honored by the university administration. It should be noted that the tournament was organized by the executive authority of the city of Kulob in cooperation with law enforcement agencies of the city and the Kulob region in honor of World Football Day.
The celebration continued with a colorful artistic performance by the university’s “Gulrez” ensemble of the Culture Department, featuring songs, music, dances, and artistic performances. The cultural program was vibrant, engaging, and memorable. The ensemble’s repertoire included songs praising peace and unity, friendship, the greatness of the ancestral homeland, respect for national values, statehood symbols, national identity, youth, and beauty.
The event once again demonstrated that the university’s youth are true followers of the Leader of the Nation and play an important role in strengthening peace, unity, and the development and prosperity of society.
