SPORTS. HOLDING A MINI-FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT AMONG STUDENTS

At Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki, upon the initiative of the Youth Affairs Department and the Faculty of Physical Education and Military Defense Training, a mini-football tournament among university students for the “Rector’s Cup of Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki” for 2026 was launched within the framework of events dedicated to the Youth Day of Tajikistan, World Football Day, and the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The main purpose of organizing this tournament is to promote and support the policy of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, especially the initiatives of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, in the development of sports, as well as to support the international initiative of the President of the Football Federation of Tajikistan, Honourable Rustam Emomali, regarding the declaration of May 25 as World Football Day, and to celebrate the Youth Day of Tajikistan, which is annually observed on May 23.

It should be noted that 10 teams consisting of students from the university’s faculties participated in the tournament and competed against each other. The matches were held in a highly competitive atmosphere. As a result, the team of the Faculty of Finance and Economics won first place, the team of the Faculty of Physical Education and Military Defense Training took second place, and the team of the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology secured third place. The winners of the final stage of the tournament will be awarded by the university administration on the eve of Youth Day.
