The administration of Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki, guided by the educational policy and wise instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, continues to implement necessary measures aimed at creating favorable conditions for education and upbringing.
In this regard, within the framework of events dedicated to the declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Expanding Creative and Construction Works and Strengthening National Self-Awareness and Identity,” as well as in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, on May 14, 2026, a new classroom named after the distinguished intellectual, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, and Honored Worker of Tajikistan Jumakhon Alimi was inaugurated at the Faculty of Tajik Philology and Journalism of the university.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Rector of the university, Professor Safarzoda Munir Vatan, Professor Jumakhon Alimi, Professor and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan Sayfiddin Nazarzoda, who is serving as Chairman of the State Examination Commission in Tajik Philology specialties, vice-rectors, faculty deans, lecturers, and the relatives of the professor. The participants became acquainted with the facilities and conditions created in the newly established classroom.
During the event, the university administration and participants emphasized that the renovation and opening of this classroom, along with a number of other educational facilities, were carried out within the framework of the university’s constructive initiatives, and that the classrooms had been equipped with modern educational technologies and teaching equipment.
It was particularly noted that Professor Jumakhon Alimi is considered one of the prominent and influential figures in contemporary Tajik science and education. Through his productive scientific, pedagogical, and public activities, he has made a valuable contribution to the development of Tajik linguistics, especially in the fields of onomastics and toponymy. He is among the first researchers to initiate systematic scientific studies of the toponymy of the Kulob region and to introduce modern research and educational methodologies.
Alongside his extensive scientific work, Professor Jumakhon Alimi has played a central role in preparing highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel, mentoring hundreds of students and researchers. In recent years alone, dozens of postgraduate researchers and doctoral candidates under his direct supervision have successfully defended their dissertations and are now working as qualified specialists in scientific and educational institutions across the country.
The professor’s scientific school, built upon knowledge, experience, broad intellectual outlook, and dedication to national values, is today recognized as one of the important environments for the development of scientific thought and the training of young professionals. Therefore, the establishment of a classroom bearing Professor Jumakhon Alimi’s name represents recognition of his lasting contribution to the development of science and education, the training of professional specialists, and the strengthening of national identity, while also serving as an important symbol of continuity between generations.
Overall, the establishment and opening of such classrooms demonstrate respect for the dedication and service of educators and represent a logical continuation of the educational policy pursued by the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, who consistently pays special attention to enhancing the status of teachers and the development of science and education in society.
