CITY-LEVEL SCIENTIFIC AND THEORETICAL CONFERENCE HELD

On April 18, 2026, a city-level scientific and theoretical conference was held at Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki, initiated by the Department of General University Tajik Language. The conference was titled “The Role of Language in the Formation of National Identity” and was organized within the framework of the State Language Development Program for 2020–2030.

The conference was opened by the Head of the Department of Science and Innovation, Associate Professor Lutfia Rasulzoda, who noted that language is a defining element of the existence of every nation, a solid foundation of independent statehood, and a guarantor of the preservation of national and global civilization.

Presentations were delivered by the Head of the Department of General University Tajik Language, Associate Professor Muhabbat Quvvatova on “The Role of Language in the Formation of National Identity,” Candidate of Philological Sciences and lecturer at Kulob Pedagogical College Abulqosim Rahimov on “Stable Linguistic Units in the Poetry of Haqnazar Ghoib,” and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Linguistics and History of Language Mubina Qayumova on “State Language Policy and Onomastics.”

It was emphasized that the Tajik language, closely connected with its related languages - Dari and Persian - has historically served as a language of civilization across vast regions, enjoying a special cultural status. Thanks to the wise policy of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, during the period of independence, the language has regained its historic status in its homeland and, similar to the golden age of Tajik civilization - the Samanid era - has become a language of official administration, politics, law, economics, science, and culture.
