KSU. MEETING OF THE COORDINATION COUNCIL OF LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES OF KULOB CITY

Today (March 18, 2026), a meeting of the Coordination Council of Law Enforcement Authorities of Kulob city was held in the cultural hall of Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki. The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Coordination Council, Prosecutor of Kulob city Mansur Ghanizoda, Acting Chairman of Kulob city Dilovar Pirzoda, Rector of the University, Associate Professor Munir Vatanzoda Safarzoda, as well as heads and representatives of relevant institutions and members of the healthcare sector.

The meeting focused on pressing issues, including compliance with legislation in the prescription of psychotropic medicines by medical personnel, the correct issuance of prescriptions, as well as adherence to legal requirements in the sale of psychotropic drugs in pharmacies, prevention of illegal sales without prescriptions or in violation of established procedures during 2024–2025 and the elapsed period of 2026.

It was emphasized that ensuring compliance with legislation in the circulation of psychotropic and potent drugs is a key aspect of maintaining public safety and protecting public health. Analysis shows that despite certain achievements, shortcomings still exist in the activities of some pharmacies and medical institutions, including cases of illegal sales, failure to comply with established procedures, and improper use of such medicines, which is a cause for concern.

It was noted that preventing such violations requires strengthening cooperation between law enforcement agencies, healthcare institutions, and other relevant bodies, as well as increasing the responsibility of professionals and enhancing strict control measures. At the same time, the importance of intensifying public awareness campaigns, especially among young people, to prevent the use of narcotic and psychotropic substances was highlighted.
