THE DEVELOPMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE CONTEXT OF SOCIETAL INFORMATIZATION

On February 27, 2026 at the initiative of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics of Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki, and in order to implement the instructions of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, as well as within the framework of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and the 80th anniversary of the University, a republican scientific-theoretical conference was held with the participation of sectoral specialists from various organizations and institutions of the country, representatives of higher professional educational institutions, and faculty members and students.

In his welcoming speech, the Rector of the University, Associate Professor Safarzoda Munir Vatan, expressed gratitude to the participants and emphasized that the 21st century - the era of information technologies, digital economy, and innovation - has led humanity to a new stage of civilizational development. The rapid advancement of information technologies, communication networks, the growing volume of digital data, and the integration of intelligent systems into all spheres of social life have transformed the concept of the information society into reality. In this process, artificial intelligence, as a priority field of science and technology and an indicator of the level of national development, plays a key role in shaping the digital economy, improving governance efficiency, and strengthening national competitiveness.

During the plenary session, scientific reports were delivered by Professor Sattorov Abdurassul - representative of Bokhtar State University named after Nosiri Khusrav - on the role of artificial intelligence in organizing the educational process; Associate Professor Furqati Sikandari of KSU on “Digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the modern economy: opportunities, risks, and security challenges”; and Senior Lecturer Rahimova H.M. of UIDT on the “Prospects of using artificial intelligence in regulating the activities of the “Kulob” Free Economic zone”.

An online presentation was delivered by Associate Professor Arabov Mullosharaф from the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies named after N.I. Lobachevsky of Kazan Federal University on data sovereignty as the foundation of the digital future of the Republic of Tajikistan in the era of large language models (LLM).

During the discussions, participants emphasized the strategic importance of artificial intelligence as a priority area of scientific and technological development for strengthening the digital economy and enhancing national competitiveness. In the afternoon, the conference continued its work in two sections, where reports were presented in Tajik, Russian, and English in both in-person and online formats. In total, more than 70 scientific reports by domestic and foreign researchers were presented.
