REVIEW OF THE UNIVERSITYS ACTIVITIES IN THE 2025–2026 ACADEMIC YEAR AND TASKS FOR THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR

On June 26, 2026, an expanded meeting of the Academic Council was held at Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki with the participation of a broad range of professors, lecturers, staff members, and employees. During the meeting, the universitys performance in the 2025–2026 academic year was reviewed and summarized.

The meeting initially commenced in the Academic Council Hall with the participation of Council members, where important issues related to the universitys activities, envisaged in the work plan, were considered in accordance with the agenda.

The session then continued in the universitys cultural hall with the participation of professors, lecturers, staff members, heads of structural units, and other representatives of the university community. During the session, the report of the Rector of the university, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Safarzoda Munir Vatan, on the results of the universitys activities in the 2025–2026 academic year was presented.

In his comprehensive report, the Rector thoroughly analyzed the activities of all structural units in the areas of education, science and innovation, student affairs, international relations, infrastructure development, social affairs, and administration.

It was noted that the 2025–2026 academic year, benefiting from the wise educational policy and constructive guidance of the Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, became a truly historic and achievement-filled year for the university community. The year coincided with preparations for celebrating the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and the 80th anniversary of the university, which inspired the faculty members and created favorable conditions for the institutions further development.

The report emphasized that the universitys Olympiad team won 15 prize-winning places at the Republican Olympiad among higher education institutions and secured second place among 46 higher educational institutions of the country, which is considered one of the universitys major academic achievements.

Significant achievements were also recorded in the development of scientific and innovative potential. In particular, university inventors obtained several patents and invention certificates, including the first patent for the invention entitled "Grain Washing Device (AgroTaj)."

It was also reported that during the reporting period, the university signed new cooperation agreements with 16 foreign higher educational institutions from the United Kingdom, China, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Furthermore, a foreign instructor from the United States of America was invited to teach English, contributing to the strengthening of international cooperation and improving the quality of foreign language instruction.

The Rector also highlighted important social initiatives and incentive measures for faculty members, noting that on the occasion of the universitys 80th anniversary, employees salaries were increased by 10 percent from special funds, while bonuses for successful dissertation defenses were significantly increased.

The report stated that during the 2025–2026 academic year, 58 classrooms were completely renovated and refurbished, while 33 classrooms, within the framework of the university initiative "Connection of Generations," were equipped with modern facilities and named after distinguished scholars and veterans of the field. In addition, new educational laboratories were established, further strengthening the universitys material and technical base.

It was also noted that in the field of scientific activity, 21 faculty members successfully defended candidate dissertations and one faculty member defended a doctoral dissertation. More than 1,100 scientific materials, including monographs, articles, and teaching manuals, were published by the universitys scholars and lecturers.

The remarkable scientific and creative achievements of students were also highlighted, particularly their success in national competitions such as "Knowledge Enlightens the Dawn," "Science – the Light of Enlightenment," "Young Researcher and Inventor," "Masters Student of the Year," and other national-level contests.

Summarizing the results, the Rector, while acknowledging the achievements, also analyzed existing challenges and assigned specific tasks aimed at further improving the quality of education, strengthening scientific capacity, involving youth in research activities, developing digitalization, enhancing the material and technical infrastructure, and expanding international cooperation.

During the discussion session, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Bozorov Khushvakht, Associate Professor Khudoydodova Sharofat, and Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Zaynalov Qurbon highly praised the Rectors report. They described the achievements as the result of collective efforts by the university community and regarded the presented analysis and proposed tasks as timely and significant.

As part of the concluding session, a number of professors, lecturers, and staff members were honored for their effective work, significant contribution to the development of education, scientific activities, and active participation in public life. They received the badge "Excellent Worker of Education and Science of Tajikistan," Certificates of Honor from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Committee for Youth and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Executive Authority of Khatlon Region, and Letters of Appreciation from the university administration.

In addition, a ceremonial presentation of honors diplomas to the graduates of 2026 took place during the meeting. Honors diplomas were awarded to 87 graduates, including 70 bachelors graduates and 17 masters graduates.

At the end of the meeting, the Rector of the university, Professor Safarzoda Munir Vatan, expressed gratitude to the professors, lecturers, staff, and students for their dedicated work and emphasized that the university community would continue to implement the educational policy of the state and Government with a high sense of responsibility, improve the quality of education, and ensure the comprehensive development of the institution.
