The university stage of the republican contest “Science – the Light of Enlightenment” was held at Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki, where the best participants qualified for the next round. This contest is held annually in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, with the aim of attracting young people to the study of natural, exact, and mathematical sciences, as well as identifying and promoting new talents.
At the opening ceremony, the Rector of the University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Munir Vatan Safarzoda, emphasized the important role of science and knowledge in societal development and noted that such competitions contribute to the formation of scientific thinking, the development of technical skills, and the training of highly qualified specialists. The Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Associate Professor Shodmon Kamolzoda, also explained the rules of the competition in accordance with the official regulations and encouraged participants to take part actively and responsibly.
The contest was held in eight categories: mathematics, physics and astronomy, chemistry, biology, geography, information technology, invention and innovation, artificial intelligence, and programming. More than 80 participants took part in the university stage, demonstrating their knowledge and skills. As a result, the best contestants were selected to participate in the city stage.
Overall, the contest “Science – the Light of Enlightenment” contributes to the development of scientific outlook among youth, enhances their knowledge, and strengthens their interest in exact sciences, serving as an important foundation for the advancement of science, technology, and industrialization of the country.
