Under this title, on February 9, 2026, Kulob State University named after Abuabdullohi Rudaki held a meeting of lecturers and students initiated by the Department of Educational Affairs within the framework of the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honourable Emomali Rahmon, to the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan dated 16 December 2025.
The event began with an opening speech by the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Shаrifzoda Odinamo. Referring to the key points of the Presidential Address, she noted that combating superstition is one of the most important tasks of modern society, especially for young people. She called on youth to deeply study science and knowledge, master professions and skills, and raise their legal and political awareness, emphasizing that the progress and prosperity of the state and the nation are ensured by professional, educated, thoughtful young people with a healthy worldview.
After that, the Head of the University’s Department of Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Sharipov Anvar, delivered a detailed and engaging presentation on the topic “Superstition is Ignorance.” He stated that superstition is one of the main factors of intellectual and social backwardness and can divert young people from the right path in life. He stressed that science and knowledge, scientific thinking, and national self-awareness are the primary tools in the fight against any superstition and harmful ideas. The speech also highlighted the significant role of educational institutions in shaping a scientific worldview, providing moral education, and increasing students’ sense of civic responsibility.
Furthermore, the Head of the University’s Legal Support Department, Nazarzoda Bakhtiyor, spoke about the legal aspects of the issue and explained the provisions of the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan related to the prevention of superstition and extremism. He emphasized that engaging in such actions entails administrative and criminal liability, and every citizen is obliged to obey the law and contribute to strengthening social stability.
At the end of the meeting, students held a question-and-answer session with the speakers and received comprehensive responses. Such events play an important role in raising political and legal awareness and in forming a healthy worldview among young people.
